New Artists @ ART ST
We have slowly been making our way through our membership waitlist for new artists who wish to join us. So far this year, we have had the pleasure of welcoming three new artists to our group – Glenmary Swan, Diane McDonald and Terri Vidler:
Glenmary Swan - Mixed Media Artist
Art is about creativity. To Glenmary, it can be on any surface with any material. It can be planned carefully or impromptu. Glenmary likes to create still life, the shapes of birds, landscapes and abstracts.
Diane McDonald - Contemporary Artist
Diane's inspiration comes from nature, colour, form and life itself and her works often reflect her favourite places and people she has observed there. She loves colour and sometimes uses it in non-traditional ways to reflect a warmth and happiness to her art.
Terri Vidler - Contemporary Artist
Terri was born and bred in Brisbane and now lives (and paints) at Bribie Island. She worked as a real estate agent in Brisbane’s inner north for many years and her Dad also was a real estate agent all of his life. She was surrounded by classic Queenslander style homes and has a real love for them – a natural topic for her painting.
What's new on the Website
Hot off the Easels
All our latest art can be seen on our “Hot off the Easels” page! Here, you can view a great range of new paintings by Robert Jones, Marianne Grigore, Karen Collins, Diane McDonald, Deb Brown, Terri Vidler, Catherine Marsh, Margaret Frost, Anne Armstrong, Patt Gonzalez, Janice Lamb, and Glenmary Swan. We have lots of new abstracts, landscapes, drawings, animal art, a beach scene, some flowers and a couple of Queenslander houses!
Art Requests
Since my last newsletter, we have received 7 Art Requests: “Tribal Warrior Girl”, “Lakes District”, “Royal Dogs”, “Blues Abstract”, “Bird in the Rain”, “Lots of Colour” and “Under the Sea Abstract”.
“Under the Sea Abstract” is still in progress and we are waiting on a decision from the Requester.
Anne Armstrong said goodbye to her cute and quirky “Couch Potatoes” and Patty Gonzalez secured a commission from the “Blues Abstract”. Patty was also successful with her “Green and White Umbrella” going to another buyer.
Keep an eye on our "View Art Requests" page to see the results. I just love seeing the artists interpretations of these requests. It is a fun exercise for our artists to paint something they may not have thought of painting previously and to try new methods and subjects without the pressure of a direct commission.
If you would like to learn more or request some art, simply complete the form which can be found on our Art Request page. The details will be distributed to all our Artists and hopefully you will have a few artworks from which to choose!

ART ST finalists included: Deb Brown, Angela Wilson, Margaret Frost, Marianne Grigore, Grazia Carrara, Jakki Boucaut, Diane McDonald, Karen Collins. Congratulations to the new owners of artwork by Margaret, Angela, Diane and Karen.
