Peter's oil painting interests include traditional Australian landscape, urban industrial landscapes and still-life themes
I paint mainly with oils and gravitate to subjects that are often overlooked, or go unnoticed or are considered ordinary. I enjoy trying to show the extraordinary in ordinary subjects. The common thread is that the subjects have something to say about the beauty in environments, experiences, people and life.
After finally moving to Brisbane after a working life as a Teacher/Principal in schools throughout Queensland, I was able to progress from having a life-long interest in art to making art. This came about when I was gifted a six-month course at the Brisbane Institute of Art by my daughters one Father's Day.
I am currently enrolled in an online course through the Virtual Art Academy. The course is helping me to explore and better understand the thinking and techniques that go into creating a work of art.
