A recently retired nurse who is finally finding the time to indulge my passion for painting.
My life long involvement with art consists of Honours achievements at high school, a completed apprenticeship in Commercial Art / Screen printing followed by many years of intermittent dabbling in freelance art and commercial art from 1970 onwards.
I'm predominantly self taught although probably influenced by my previous experience in the commercial art field. I have previously exhibited and sold work at the Wanganui Art Awards (NZ) 1984, completed several commissions, and sold or gifted a number of art works since 1970. My earlier works were oil paintings before transitioning to acrylics in the late 1980's.
A keen surfer and snorkeler in my younger days kindled my appreciation of the environment and a growing desire to portray the beauty of nature I particularly enjoy painting landscapes / waterscapes depicting the reflected light, colour, detail and movement within our environment.
